Humboldt Redwoods Marathon, Oct 17, 2010
The Humboldt Redwoods Marathon is a small marathon (augmented by a much larger half marathon) in the magnificent redwood forests of Humboldt Redwoods State Park in northern California. The day began overcast but soon cleared up. I started slowly then picked up the pace some during the race, in part to make up for numerous photo stops. In the second half I met up with Michelle and Daniel and ran with them much of the time. After the race we ate lunch in the sunshine on a big gravel bar down by the river and I took a few bird photos. Definitely a race I'd do again.
